Frequently Asked Questions

 

 

How do I book a session?

Booking your session is as easy as sending an e-mail to StarkStudiosReno@gmail.com or giving us a call at 775-525-0614.  Once your inquiry e-mail is received, a session can be planned via e-mail, or phone with Iryna. Iryna will help you to select a date and location and plan to meet at the specified time to begin your session.  Once the session date has been selected, clients will be required to sign a short contract and pay a nonrefundable retainer in the amount of a 50% non-refundable retainer that is used towards the total session price (ranging from 125-200 depending on session type) in order to secure your date.

 

How do I pay for my session?

The non-refundable retainer is needed to secure your date. This fee can be paid via cash, credit card, or invoice. Don't forget: if you order prints and products within 48 hours of receiving your final gallery, you will receive a 15% discount!

 

Are there any hidden fees?

There are no hidden fees; however, there are a couple of options that will have an extra fee if you decide you want them. Don't worry, we will let you know about them at the time of booking so you will not see any surprises later :)

 

What is included in my portrait package?

Packages are listed on the "Investment" tab above. If you don't see a package that suits your needs, please send us an email and we will create something unique for your occasion.

 

What can I expect from a session, start to finish?

After paying the nonrefundable retainer, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. 

Iryna will be able to help you plan your session at any time via email

On the day of your session, Iryna and/or Robert will meet you at the specified location and will lead you through some poses. We'll continue by getting some candid photos.  Candid pictures are beautiful, but it’s no secret that even some of the best pictures have a little help getting started! The remaining portion of payment, if not paid yet, will be collected at the end of the session.

You can go home and relax after all of your hard work at the session and Iryna will select anywhere from 15-30 watermarked images for you to view via our online gallery. You will choose the images that came with your package and we will edit these images. We will post a few edited shots from your session on our fan page within 48 hours of you having chosen your final images. You may share and tag the images on Facebook as well as make them your profile picture and timeline image. You may not alter the image in any way, or crop any part of our watermark.

All of your edited final images will be uploaded to your online gallery where you will be able to download web-sized and high resolution images. At this time, you will have the option to order prints, gifts, canvases, and books and you will choose the images for the prints that came with your package, if that is the case. 

If you place an order within 2 business days of your final gallery being sent, you will receive a 15% discount. 

Your art will be delivered to you approximately 2-6 weeks after your order has been placed (with the exception of albums which can take anywhere from 4-10 weeks).

 

Do you use a professional printing lab?

Yes! We have worked long and hard to find the best printing lab in the business that delivers high-quality heirloom pieces. We actually encourage you to use our professional lab. Why? Because we carefully curate each one of our photos to make sure that you will only receive the best product. If you have spent this much time and effort to have a professional photo session, it's only fair to yourself to finish with professional quality products. Drug store labs do not do our images justice. 

 

Do you have a studio?

Like many of the photographers in the area, we are mostly on location photographers.  We will be happy to come to an outdoor or indoor location of your choice, including your home.  We love the outdoors, and outdoor pictures are always the best – as long as the weather is nice! We do work with an indoor location in the Reno area that, with advanced notice, we can accommodate our clients. 

 

What should I/we wear?
It is best to keep clothing simple, avoiding logos, busy patterns, or neon colors. We always suggest layers/textures. In group photos, color coordinating is always more pleasing to the eye. Wear clothes that represent you and who you are. Feel free to bring a change of clothing.

 

What to bring?
For family and/or children photo sessions: outfit changes, a drink, favorite toy, special stuffed animal. Please make sure your little one has been fed and had a nap before the photo session for a more comfortable and positive experience. Please do not drink or eat foods/candies/sodas with coloring as this will stain faces/hands/clothes. There is an additional charge for color-correcting these issues.

 

Can you make me look younger? Thinner? (aka: do you retouch your images?)
We will do minor retouches to cover blemishes or scars. However, we will not change the shape/composition of your face or body. You are beautiful just the way you are!

 

 

Return Policy

All sessions are non-refundable; however, if you find you are not completely satisfied with your gallery images, we happy to re-shoot your session. We don’t want you to worry going into your session that your investment in portraits hinges on one day. We want you to be happy.  

We strive to give you the best items when it comes to our print products. If you are not satisfied, please contact us so we can correct any issues.
